(500) Days of not listening to Summer

This week on The Pod Charles Cinecast, presented by The Prince Charles Cinema, our hosts Jonathan Foster and Fil Freitas head to Los Angeles to see about a young man who has fallen in love with the perfect woman. Too bad it is just the idea of a perfect woman... and he completely disregards her attempts to tell him that she just isn't interested in a relationship.

It's, sadly, the final week of the 2 THOUGHTS 2 DEEP mini-arc – and we are ready to go nuclear! It's the 2009 anti-rom-com that got Marc Webb "The Amazing Spider-Man" and written by the guys who adapted Greg Sestero's "The Disaster Artist" – (500) DAYS OF SUMMER, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel.

We follow a down and out aspiring architect, who is making ends meet as a greeting card writer, falling head over heels with the first girl to also like the same music as him. She immediately tells him that she doesn't want a relationship, and he proceeds to force one on her anyway. Thus, we are treated to 90 mins of a guy just not getting it, when it all goes sour. And the girl is for some reason the villain?

Join us, as we end this silly arc into the movies we used to think were deeply, emotionally, thought-provokingly sweet, with the coup de grâce. Is this movie actually pretty good, or does it just have another bomb ass soundtrack?
