Grumpy Old Men talk conspiracies

This week on The Pod Charles Cinecast, presented by The Prince Charles Cinema, our hosts Jonathan Foster and Fil Freitas hit the icy town of Wabasha, Minnesota, where two men have been fighting for decades over a girl. After years of trading insults, jabs, and pulling pranks on each other, they were left to be nothing by GRUMPY OLD MEN.

With us nearly at American Thanksgiving, we've decided to dip back into the Filaversary, with a couple of Thanksgiving films from 1993. We kick things off with the sixth Jack Lemmon and Walter Mathau team-up, with this romantic comedy about two guys who just never get along. It's still a really solid film after 30 years, with the two lovable men at each other's throats, still showing what they are made of in the twilight of their careers. It's a callback to their days as Oscar and Felix in The Odd Couple, but with a frozen backdrop, fishing, and an older than normal manic pixie dream girl to fight over. Plus, Burgess Meredith is in it, and he is filth, and it's still very funny!

Join us, as we dive into this comedy classic with two of the best who ever did!

"Do me a favour. Put your lip over your head... and swallow."
